About Us

Hi! We’re Resolution Psychotherapy, a team of mental health counselors who believe in personal empowerment. In therapy with us, you can expect multiculturally competent counseling that puts you in the driver’s seat. We provide personalized treatment that is tailored to meet your specific mental health needs. For support in achieving your goals, working through difficult feelings, and living the life you deserve, please contact us to learn more or make an appointment. Located in New York's Hudson Valley, Resolution Psychotherapy is an all-virtual practice. Existing clients can log in to our client portal here to complete intake paperwork and update billing information. Your therapist will email you a link to their virtual waiting room on doxy.me prior to your first session.

Monique accepts Aetna and Fidelis coverage. Her out-of-network fee is $125 per individual session. As of March 2023, Monique is currently accepting new clients for deep work intensive sessions or group therapy only. Monique specializes in helping people heal from trauma, overcome anxiety, and triumph over self-doubt. Her clients include those recovering from sexual assault and other interpersonal violence, as well as LGBTQIA folks and other members of marginalized groups coping with systemic oppression. She uses many different approaches to support clients in their healing, and tends to focus on EMDR, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, feminist therapy, and mindfulness-based therapy. Monique is a Red Cross-certified Disaster Mental Health First Responder and has studied with the Center for Deployment Psychology. She has served as the chairperson of the board of the Dutchess County Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse and consults for the Victims Subcommittee of the Dutchess County Criminal Justice Commission. Monique is a certified trauma-sensitive yoga instructor and a trauma-sensitive mindfulness instructor.

THOMAS SHOOMAN, MHC-LP

Tom is not currently accepting new clients as of April

2023. Thomas integrates cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and humanistic methodologies to help clients struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, grief, and difficult life transitions. He is interested in helping clients live their values and reach their goals. For some, that may mean working on symptom reduction so they can get back to focusing on what's important to them. For others, it may be a process of personal development and meaning-making. Thomas sees clients ages 18 and older. Tom's per-session rate is $90. We make every effort to be transparent about what you can expect to pay in therapy in compliance with the No Surprises Act of 2021. If you're paying out-of-pocket, you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate from us whenever you'd like one, so please don't hesitate to ask.
