While COVID-19 has shut down many aspects of our lives, one thing that has not been put on hold is our anxiety. These are particularly stressful times, and for people who struggle with anxious thoughts and feelings, the challenges presented by the present moment may seem overwhelming. However, crises can represent unique opportunities for growth. Managing Anxiety is a weekly counseling group designed to help you rise to the challenges of life and respond to anxiety with confidence and resilience. As a participant of Managing Anxiety, you will learn the skills needed to cope and thrive. You will also have the opportunity to receive support from and lend support to others who know what it's like to battle anxiety.
Managing Anxiety will meet on Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. via Google Meet. $25 per session. Enrollment is happening now.
There are two kinds of people in the world. The first kind hears “group”-anything and thinks, “Wow, great! Connecting with new people! I’m in!” The second kind of person hears the word “group” and seriously considers hiding under the bed. If you’re the first kind of person, welcome! Feel free to skip this next bit. If you’re the second kind of person, here are some reasons to give groups a chance.
Human beings are social animals, and we need connection to heal and thrive. Although individual sessions are amazing in their own way, groups have something special to offer: the ability to connect with others who struggle with the same things we do. The beauty of a group is that everyone is invested in creating a supportive, non-judgmental, emotionally safe space where every member gets the benefit of every other member’s experience.
Sometimes, the best way to heal is to help. Being a part of a group stirs our innately human instinct to support and empower one another. In addition to being the recipient of the group’s wisdom, you will also sometimes be a provider of that wisdom. It’s a pretty awesome way to realize your strength and feel good about your own journey.
It’s affordable! Groups with Monique are covered by most insurance plans, and groups with Megan and/or Thomas are priced below many plan co-pays at $25 per session.

WOMEN SURVIVORS OF TRAUMA
Beginning July 2020, this group with Monique & Megan will meet Wednesday evenings and is open to women-identifying people age 18 and older who are recovering from sexual assault.
. The group provides a supportive space to heal and rediscover your own power after surviving gender violence. Feminist, mindfulness-based, and trauma-informed. This group will meet virtually for the foreseeable future on Thursdays from 5:30 - 6:45 p.m. Email Monique for more info.
GRIEVING A LOVED ONE
Beginning Fall 2020: This group with Thomas & Megan and is open to adults readjusting to life after loss. If you've lost someone, you know that one of the toughest parts is the feeling that no one knows what to say, and others are walking on eggshells around you. In this group, you'll experience the relief of being with people who get it, and of not needing to put on a brave face for the world. You'll be able to share the often complicated feelings that come with death, and to give yourself the gift of time and space to process your grief. Group start date and time TBA.
